The American Chiropractic Association (ACA), America’s largest chiropractic organization, and doctors of chiropractic nationwide celebrate National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM) in October each year. National Chiropractic Health Month aims to raise public awareness about the significance of musculoskeletal health and the advantages of chiropractic care.
Additionally, NCHM seeks to highlight chiropractic care as a natural, patient-centered, evidence-based, and non-drug approach to boosting health and wellness. Chiropractors focus on treating complications related to the spine and other joints to assist people in improving their mobility.
Celebrating National Chiropractic Health Month also brings into perspective the connection between physical health and overall well-being. During the month-long event, chiropractors encourage patients to remain active and adopt healthier lifestyles. Each year, NCHM adopts a theme to address prevailing health concerns. For instance, the 2023 NCHM theme was “Chiropractic: Relieve, Restore, Resume.” The campaign drew attention to the impact of chronic pain and the benefits of adopting non-drug approaches such as chiropractic care for the effective management of pain.
These themes determine the month’s activities and resources, ensuring powerful and impactful messaging for all audiences. To celebrate National Chiropractic Health Month, participants can engage in activities such as booking a chiropractic checkup, learning a new stretch, starting a healthy habit such as a daily walk, and organizing a community wellness workshop.
